Artist - Jeanne Engesath

Jeanne currently lives in Port Angeles, Washington. Her passion is painting wildlife and landscape scenes.

Though Jeanne has had some formal art training, most of her art education has been through self-study and through selected courses and seminars with some of the nations top wildlife and landscape artists.  She enjoys the challenge of trying different subjects and of gathering information for new paintings.

"Fifteen years of living in Alaska have given me a real love for the wildlife of the far north. However, since joining the Port Angeles community in 2001, I have found an interest in the local wildlife and scenery of the Pacific Northwest as well.  The beauty of Olympic National Park, the rugged Washington coastline, and picturesque farms in the area provide endless inspiration for new work."

Jeanne and husband, Vern, a retired fireman, now live on 4 1/2 acres outside of Port Angeles where they enjoy trail riding up in the mountains and raising German Shepherd dogs.

Jeanne has worked as a free lance illustrator with the Northwest Interpretive Center at Olympic National Park. Her artwork has won several regional awards in Alaska as well as in Washington, and is in private collections throughout the country.  She is an associate member of Women Artists of the West and also Plein Air Washington.
